Building Home Libraries, Building Readers:
Experimental Evidence on the Impact of Book Ownership
Join Dr. Geoffrey Borman for a practical look at new five-year randomized-trial evidence showing that sustained access to print books can measurably improve children’s reading achievement. Especially relevant for book banks and book access organizations, the session will explore why repeated distribution, home-library building, and engaging book selection matter—and what this research means for strengthening the field’s impact. Includes 50 minutes of presentation and 10 minutes for questions. See the full study online: https://www.pnas.org/doi/abs/10.1073/pnas.2521416123?af=R
This session will be recorded.
All sessions are free for members and will be hosted live on Zoom. For non-members, the cost is $25. If you haven't yet joined the NBAA, please click here to sign up and stay in touch.
