NBAA members will have the opportunity to connect with peers in a relaxed, facilitated Zoom setting. Participants will have time to introduce themselves, share current priorities, and build relationships across organizations, regions, and roles. This session will not be recorded.

She is an award-winning community advocate, nationally recognized nonprofit leader, policy strategist, media contributor, and founder of Village of Moms STL, a grassroots organization dedicated to strengthening Black families through education, early childhood advocacy, maternal health, literacy, and community empowerment. Since founding Village of Moms STL in 2018 alongside six Black mothers, Alecia has transformed a small neighborhood initiative into a respected community organization recognized for addressing systemic barriers affecting mothers, children, and underserved families throughout Missouri.
Through Village of Moms STL, Alecia has led innovative initiatives that have connected thousands of families to educational resources, childcare assistance, literacy enrichment, maternal health services, workforce development opportunities, and civic engagement programs. Under her leadership, the organization has developed signature programs including The Reading Village, Rewriting Education Café Series, Parent Cafés, Healing Through Literacy, Birth to First STL (Baby Steps University), Vitality Café, Village of Youth, and Village of Dads, creating safe spaces where families can learn, heal, advocate, and thrive.
Alecia's influence extends well beyond direct service. She has consulted with more than 20 nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, healthcare providers, and government agencies, providing expertise in community engagement, parent leadership, coalition building, nonprofit development, strategic planning, and equitable program design. She has also helped establish and facilitate multiple community advisory boards, parent leadership councils, family engagement committees, and cross-sector collaborations, ensuring community voices remain central to organizational and policy decisions.
