Two Years, One Movement, A World of Possibilities

March 18, 2025 3:53 PM | Anonymous member (Administrator)

Just two short years ago, the National Book Access Association (NBAA) was just an idea—a dream shared by passionate individuals who knew that book access could change lives. Today, we’ve built a thriving network of people and organizations dedicated to making sure every child, no matter their background, grows up surrounded by books. We’ve made incredible progress, but we’re just getting started. Now, it’s time to aim higher.

Why Book Access Matters More Than Ever

We know that having books in the home is one of the strongest predictors of future academic success. Yet, millions of children still lack access to books, creating an invisible barrier to their growth and potential. The NBAA is on a mission to change that.

We’re convening a powerful, nationwide gathering to set the course for the future of book access. This isn’t just another conference—it’s a call to action. We’re bringing together the brightest minds and the most dedicated hearts to define the field, set ambitious goals, and create lasting impact.

The Power of 1,000 Members: A Vision for the Future

Imagine 1,000 of us—book champions, literacy advocates, and community leaders—all working together at full capacity. What could we achieve?

  • Distribute Millions of Books – Through collaboration and shared resources, we could ensure that more children, families, and communities have access to books than ever before.

  • Develop Cutting-Edge Literacy Programs – From digital storytelling to multilingual book distribution, we could create innovative ways to reach young readers where they are.

  • Drive Policy Change – A unified, national voice advocating for book access in schools, libraries, healthcare settings, and homes could reshape the literacy landscape.

  • Amplify Local Efforts with National Strength – NBAA members working together could transform small, local book initiatives into major, lasting literacy movements.

  • Create a Culture of Reading – More than just distributing books, we could inspire a love of reading that lasts a lifetime.

We’re not just dreaming—we’re building. The progress we’ve made in just two years proves what’s possible when we work together. But to truly move the needle, we need to grow.
